Lesson 2

Continue our lesson 2. We also learn new vocab about manners in class such as ‘moo ichido onegaishimasu’ (one more time please), ‘moo sukoshi yukkuri itte kudasai’ (please talk slowly), ‘chotto shitsureeshimasu’ we will use this if we want to excuse ourselves out of classroom and there are other vocabs too. Next, we learned about country’s name such as ‘Roshia’ (Russia), ‘Firipin’ (Philippines), ‘Tai’ (Thailand) and others. We also learned how to pronounce them properly using Japanese pronounciation. Well, it was quite hard for us, Malaysians to pronounce like them but it was fun to learn. And then, we were given a small piece of paper to write our names and country’s name using Japanese characters. So, I just write ‘Jiha’ in both hiragana and katakana and also Serangoru (Selangor) as my country’s name in katakana. Basically, we should use katakana to write names. And the class ended after assignment given for next week and then we greeted sensei.

first day class

Konnichiwa minna-san!
Today is my first class for Japanese class. Actually this is the second class. As i was registered to this course last week that is one week late..huhu.. sobsobs >.< So.. second class started at 8.15 am in Friday morning. And here i met our teacher for this japanese class named Zoraida sensei! She is very beautiful and kind. She is married. And actually she is Malay. Yogatta ne... (", )

Before class started, leader gives command 'kiritsu' (stand up in japanese). And I was like "Wuuu..! I love this environment with Japanese culture!" hehe.. but as a Muslim, we recite 'doa' and the 'chakuseki' (sit down). So, today our first lesson is Greetings! We learn how to exchange greetings with people in japanese. Sensei gives us some examples on how japanese people greet to each other using audio and notes given. They are very polite and have very good manners. I respect them. So, this is where we start the practical lesson. Sensei told us to greet the whole class using the vocab that we have learned just now. 'Konnichiwa' (Hello) , 'ohayoo gozaimasu' (good morning) , 'sumimasen' (excuse me/sorry)depends on situation , and others. Well, it is fun to greet everyone eventhough we didnt know each other yet but someway somehow we could recognize our classmates well right? hehe.. Next,  we learned on how to recognize Japanese characters. There are 3 types of them that is Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. We also need to recognize roomaji (alphabet) and suuji (numbers). Using notes, we recognize these character in 'shinbun' (newspaper) and 'zasshi' (magazine). And actually i could recognize them well with sensei's help.huhu... Then, we go to lesson 2 a little bit. It is mainly about how students' manners in 'kyooshitsu' (classroom). Sensei called our names and we have to answer 'Hai' (yes), or 'Hai, imasu' (yes, here) and if the named called is absent, we say 'imasen' (not here) and also 'iie, mada desu' (not here yet). Next, using gestures, we done it in group to guess what is he/she do. For examples, 'kitte' (hear) , 'kaite' (write) , 'yonde' (read) ,'itte' (talk) , 'mitte' (see) and others. Before the class ended, sensei gives briefing on how to access learning resource library as we will do more self study than in class. These are the web that authorized by Japanese Foundation that is Marugoto plus and Minato.jp ... Then, we greet our sensei 'sensei, arigato gozaimasu' while bend your body about 45 degree and then recite 'doa' before we departed.
As for me, today was a very exciting day as I finally got to learn Japanese in formal environment. Its fun to meet sensei and other classmates to hear we communicate using Japanese language in real life. (Actually, Anime makes me more interested into knowing more about Japanese). It is wonderful that i've got chances to attend this class. huhu.. can't wait for the next class next week. huhu.. until we meet again ^_^
Ja, mata!
